The Faculty of Business and Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA, Kedah Branch is pleased to host the 3rd International Conference on Business, Finance, Management and Economics (BizFAME) 2024 from 24-25 October 2024. BizFAME 2024 will be a hybrid conference with a blend of diverse knowledge sharing, inspiring and networking opportunities.

KEYNOTES SPEAKERS

Professor Agachai Sumalee

Is currently a Professor at the Chulalongkorn School of Integrated Innovation with the specialization in Smart City. He was formerly a full Professor at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Vice President at KMITL, visiting professor at Tokyo University, and senior research fellow at University of Leeds (UK). During 2000-2013 he spent most of his working life aboard in UK, Japan, and Hong Kong. He has background in operation research and optimization and infrastructure engineering/economics. He has been ranked 1st in Thailand and 12th in Asia under the research areas of business management and entrepreneurship (from AD scientific index). He was also listed in the top 2% of scientists in the world based on the impact of their research (Elsevier).

 

Building on his technology he co-found a successful tech-firm (Transcode) in Thailand back in 2013 focusing on digital transformation and technology solution deployment. The company currently has an annual turnover of around 15million USD and creates impacts through several projects. Some notable projects include on-line second-hand car auction platform Omakase (co-owned by Mitsubishi corp), MFlow solution system for Thailand Department of Highway, and National GPS system for vehicle speed control. He was also involved in the investment of several startups in the past, e.g. All Thai Taxi (10million USD). His track record illustrated his interest and motivation to build and nurture businesses with innovation at the core. He also has solid experiences in directing academic and research programmes through his academic appointment at several world-class institutions.

Publication opportunities:

  • All accepted articles will be published: Special Issues Proceeding Index WoS (Springer / Atlantis Press/ Environment-Behaviour Proceedings Journal). Selected peer-reviewed papers will be published in selected Scopus - Indexed Journals with the publication fees being the responsibility of the authors.

Presentation Guidelines:

The following guidelines are intended for all presenters participating in parallel sessions at the upcoming conference, BizFAME2024. It is to assist the presenters in preparing for their respective presentations.​​

​

  1. It is important to note that every parallel session will be conducted via the Cisco Webex platform. Therefore, it is recommended that presenters become acquainted with the platform to ensure the seamless delivery of their presentations.

  2. ​To ensure a smooth start to your presentation, it is advised that as a presenter, you log in to Cisco Webex session 10 minutes prior to the designated start time. In case the chairperson is not present, you will be placed in a waiting room/lobby until the session begins.

  3. ​As a presenter, you will be granted permission to share your screen during the session. The session chair will commence the session by introducing the session format and guidelines, which are outlined in point (a-c) below.

    • a) Presenters are required to prepare a maximum of 15 minutes presentation slides in Power Point Format (*.ppt  / *.pptx).

    • b) Please use BizFAME2024 conference PowerPoint slide template (Click to download-TBA).

    • c) Please use BizFAME2024 conference Virtual Background in Cisco Webex (Click to download-TBA).

  4. ​​It is crucial that presenters adhere to the allocated time limit for their presentation, to ensure that sufficient time is available for Q&A sessions after all presentations have been delivered. In adherence to this principle, the session chair will pause presentations at the 15-minute mark.

  5. ​While presentations are being delivered, both presenters and participants have the option of posing questions to the session chair through the chat feature. The session chair will compile these queries for Q&A session. Attendees are also encouraged to direct questions to other presenters during this period.

  6. To facilitate a seamless Q&A session, the session chair will prompt attendees to unmute themselves before posing their questions. The session chair will call upon presenters in the order specified on the conference website during each parallel session. Be prepared if you are next in line.
