INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CREATIVE DESIGN, INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY (IC2reDIT) 2024

Theme: Resilience in the Face of Adversity

IC2reDIT 2024, ‘Resilience in the Face of Adversity’ reflects the contemporary reality of research trends by academic scholars and practitioners in the design and creative arts that transcend the boundaries of innovation and technology. This theme invites conference participants to seek resilience, sustainability, and innovative solutions to the demands of change faced by academia and practitioners in the design and creative arts disciplines.

 

This theme encourages reflection and discussion, which allows for positive agents of change, whether in social or cultural aspects. The involvement of various arts disciplines in this conference is expected to foster inclusive collaboration among designers, academicians, practitioners, and creative solvers from diverse backgrounds. The IC2reDIT 2024 will serve as an ideal platform for discussing issues and challenges in creative design, innovation, and technology.

This conference is organised to achieve three main objectives, namely:

  1. To serve as a platform for educators, researchers, designers, policymakers, practitioners, arts activists, students, and community leaders to come together and discuss various issues related to creative design, innovation, and technology within society.

  2. To share perspectives, explorations, and discoveries in aspects of research, creative processes, management, and marketing of various creative design, innovation, and technology genres through journals.

  3. To continue efforts in showcasing the College of Creative Arts of UiTM Kedah branch campus as a higher education institution that supports scholarly pursuits in the arts through high-quality conferences and publications.

PLENARY SPEAKERS

Professor Dr.

Lee, Sung Pil

Sungpil has various practical and research experiences related to Industrial design and Service design. In addition he has made a distinguished career at the design team of Mailing System at USPS - Pitney Bowes, Inc. US Connecticut US and LG Electronics Design Center both of North America operation and Seoul, Korea.

 

Since 2009, he established first service design graduate program in Korea and under graduate service design program from 2012. Since then, he has been successfully carrying out many government and industry service design projects. In particular, in 2020, He got BK(Brain Korea) project “Social Innovation project based on Service design Method” supported by the National Research Foundation of Korea and received 2.1 billion won for 7 years.

 

He received a B.S. of Industrial design and M.S. of Mechanical Engineering from University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA. And he completed system design major in Ph.d course from Chiba University, Japan and hold his Ph.d from Chonbuk National University, Korea in the major of Design Manufacture Engineering.

Presentation Guidelines:

All presenters participating in parallel sessions at the upcoming conference, IC2reDIT2024, should follow these guidelines. These guidelines aim to help presenters prepare for their individual presentations. ​​

​

  1. We will conduct every parallel session via the Cisco Webex platform. As a result, we recommend that presenters familiarize themselves with the platform to ensure that their presentations are delivered smoothly.

  2. Presenters should log into the Cisco Webex session 10 minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure a smooth start to their presentation. If the chairperson is not present, we will place you in a waiting room/lobby until the session begins.

  3. The session chair will grant you permission to share your screen as a presenter. The session chair will begin by outlining the session format and guidelines, as detailed in points (a-c) below.

    • a) Presenters are required to prepare a maximum of 15-minute presentation slides in PowerPoint format (*.ppt or *.pptx ).

    • b) Please use the IC2reDIT2024 conference PowerPoint slide template (         <---click to download).

    • Please use the IC2reDIT2024 conference virtual background in Cisco Webex (click to download).

  4. Presenters must strictly adhere to the allotted time limit for their presentation to guarantee ample time for Q&A sessions following the completion of all presentations. In adherence to this principle, the session chair will pause presentations at the 15-minute mark.

  5. Presenters and participants can use the chat feature to pose questions to the session chair during presentations. The session chair will compile these queries for the Q&A session. We also encourage attendees to direct their questions to other presenters during this period.

  6. To facilitate a seamless Q&A session, the session chair will prompt attendees to unmute themselves before asking their questions. The session chair will call upon presenters in the order specified on the conference website during each parallel session. Be prepared if you are next in line.
